Kennel Fimbulvinter (the great winter) is a small Kennel situated in Elverum (Norway). we have quite clear goals, we wish to strengten the breed thru Psychic stability and healthy individs, wich is used in active service and also lives an active life, also in the spare time.
Development is our Mantra, "Exterior" comes in second rank and as a bonus. As relative new in the "game" (2008), we still have a long fare in the breed (since 1996). from earlier we have owned 3 bitches and 1 Male, thru this we have sadly seen the worst in the breed and have a concrete wish to better these faults. As of today we have 3 Breeding bitches and 2 younglings we have chosen to lay our focus on.
Our focus is as follows, Healthy Lines with strong hips, healthy mentality, strong psyche and a lovely On/off button for laid back evenings in home and huts, In other words ambiguous dogs whether one are of the outdoorsy type that loves active life and hikes in nature or of the more relaxed type that wish a friend to share your walk in life to the end as a service dog in case sickness/injurie. It is than at the utmost importance that you allways can trust your dog, and that "it" has the best expectation to function after Need/expectaition.
Kennel Fimbulvinter is situated at a Farm in Kynnberget just outside Elverum, where we have big pastures and fields for active training, the mixture between deep woods, fields and rocky terrain gives our farm an almost fairytale like mood for our dogs to grow up in. we do also extensivly give our dogs and puppies milieu training in urban and city like conditions, this includes taking rides on buss, train and drives with cars.
All dogs used in Breeding by kennel Fimbulvinter is HD/AA free and approved by Norwegian German shepherd association, and by the Norwegian Kennel club, Breeding bitches that cannot show to ok results after a litter or two, will not be used in further breeding and pensioned.
